Late one afternoon, we spotted two leopards — a rare sight, as they seldom travel in pairs unless mating. We followed them for hours, and as dusk fell, we reluctantly returned to camp. The next morning, while tracking a wild dog rumored to have new pups, we heard the same leopards calling and followed the sound. Eventually, we found them together again. Our guide smiled: “You’ve just seen the rare pair — a once-in-a-lifetime moment.”

Shot on Agfachrome film in South Africa 2019, the image carries the quiet warmth of the African dawn and the texture of analog authenticity. While originally captured in color, seeing it in black & white revealed an entirely different dimension—bringing forward drama, texture, and timeless presence in a way that complements the original. I rarely stray from my original vision, but this image felt impossible to fully experience without offering both interpretations. I am offering a limited edition in both color and black & white, making each a truly special experience.
