Knowing You're Made of Meat – Leopard Mixed Media Collage – Limited Edition Fine Art Print – African Wildlife – South Africa

DESCRIPTION:
There's so much plastic. In fact, you can explain to a leopard that its spots are rare, and that synthetic leopard skin is becoming an endangered species. But it will just look back at you — knowing you're made of meat. After a while, it might kill you.
What you are looking at is one of the rarest moments in wildlife photography — two leopards mating in the tall grass of South Africa. Most photographers spend entire careers in the field without witnessing it. This was 2019. Ektachrome 200 film. The shutter opened and closed in a fraction of a second, and the moment was preserved.
Around that central image, a contact-sheet grid of smaller photographs documents the same leopards — stalking, resting, playing, alive. Hand-painted layers of green, ochre, and indigo sit between the panels, blurring the line between documentary archive and painted canvas. The handwritten text inscribed on the central image is not a caption. It is the work speaking.
The original mixed media composite is held in the artist's private collection and is not available for sale. This limited edition reproduction is the only authorized print of the work.
