A elephant herd that was moving slowly from an open clearing towards a dense group of bushes, we were positioned a fair distance away, in the middle of the clearing. Two of the largest elephants in the herd, the matriarch and the next biggest, changed their route slightly and paused about 30 to 40 feet from us. No aggressive signs were being displayed. It was as if we did not even exist. Then continued on to their original direction and began moving past us about 50 feet away. This photograph is moments before the herd gives an illusion of only a few elephants which I titled “Eight Elephants” One of my personal favorites and also listied on my site and sold in galleries.
