Humans the Only Species That Kills From a Distance – Elephant Collage Art – Limited Edition Fine Art Print – African Wildlife – Conservation Art

They gather at the waterhole as they have for thousands of years — unhurried, communal, ancient. The young stay close. The elders watch. The herd moves as one.

Around them, in the border of this work, the names of the species we have already lost scroll endlessly — extinct, near threatened, critically endangered. The list does not stop. It cannot. We keep adding to it.

This is a mixed-media collage built from documentary photography, newspaper collage, cigar paper, banana paper accents, and India ink. The central photograph — an elephant herd at a South African waterhole — was taken by the artist in 2019. Running along the inner border, a passage from Genesis: "of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark." Painted diagonal stripes in the colors of the Maasai cross the border — a nod to the people who have lived alongside these animals for centuries.

The original mixed-media composite is held in the artist's private collection and is not available for sale. This limited edition reproduction is the only authorized print of the work.
