Title: Foolish Jackals – South Africa Collage – Limited Edition 2020
Foolish Jackals is a mixed-media collage Illustrated on handmade coffee paper with paint and India ink. At its center, a solitary lion strides across the sunlit grasslands of South Africa—majestic, unbothered, and resolute. All photographs in this piece taken by me in South Africa 2019.
Inscribed on the photograph is a reflection:
It is said that when there is a thundering sound in the clouds, the mighty lion immediately replies with his thundering roar. But the Lion doesn’t care when all the foolish jackals begin to make their less important sounds.
Surrounding the central image, a border of documentary photographs records the lion’s world — moments of rest, tension, and survival that together create an intimate archive of presence. Each smaller image and layered brushstroke deepens the narrative, transforming into a story of courage and authenticity. The Original is 22 x 18 not for sale. This limited edition offer of 111 fine art print reproductions.
Foolish Jackals a reflection on leadership, resilience, and the dignity of stillness amid noise.
