The light doing exactly what it does in San Miguel at that hour. This is the photograph that was always there, waiting to be found.

Shot on Fuji Provia 400X film, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, 2006. Provia's color rendition — saturated, warm, luminous — is exactly what this street deserved. The film didn't interpret the scene. It confirmed it.
San Miguel de Allende has been part of this body of work across two decades. Tres Amigos is among the earliest of those frames — the city the same as it always is, unhurried and generous with its light.
